Mazen Abdo

Mazen Abdo, born in Amman - Jordan in 1992. He holds a Bachelor degree in International Accounting from the German-Jordanian University (GJU). He is an Oud (oriental instrument) tutor, performer, and musician who was a student of Mr. Omar Abbad. He started playing the Oud in 2007 and represented Jordan in the “Solhi Al Wadi” competition in Syria in 2009 and was awarded a scholarship to study the Oud at the “Arab Oud House” in Cairo (Instructor: Mr. Naseer Shamma). He was also the 1st place winner for the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan of the Oud competition organized by the Ministry of Education and Music (two times in a row). He participated in various musical courses in addition to his main instrument – the Oud, such as guitar, cello, and piano. He also got a distinction grade at the “ABRSM Music Theory Certification – Grade 5”.

He gained a solid experience being an Oud performer with many local and European bands, orchestras and choirs, or as a soloist on many theaters. He also founded his own choir, OudAppella, in 2018. He is the trainer, music arranger, and the leader of the choir.
