OudAppella is a Jordanian choir founded in 2018 and led by the Oud player Mazen Abdo. It is a mix of both the Oud (oriental instrument), and “A Cappella”, which is using the human voices without the accompaniment of musical instruments. Hence, the name of the band “OudAppella” was derived.
The idea of OudAppella is based on the existence of only one musical instrument (the Oud) that accompanied the choir in all of its variety musical projects till Jan-2020 that included 3 Arabic traditional songs, one piece composed originally for the Oud and sang with the choir in a unique style, and the famous Italian traditional song "Bella Ciao". All these musical projects are arranged by the Artistic Director "Mazen Abdo".
